Proudly Supporting DCS for Disabilities

Fox3 Managed Solutions: Proudly Supporting DCS for Disabilities

At Fox3 Managed Solutions, we have always been passionate about the DCS community. As the premiere DCS server provider, we strive to create an inclusive and supportive environment for all players, regardless of their abilities. That's why we're proud to partner with and support DCS for Disabilities, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping disabled veterans and disabled individuals enjoy the Digital Combat Simulator (DCS) experience we all know and love.

DCS for Disabilities: A Mission of Inclusion and Support

DCS for Disabilities was founded by Towbie, a disabled veteran with mobility issues, who recognized a gap in the DCS community—a place for disabled individuals to enjoy flight simulation without facing unnecessary stigmas or barriers. The organization was born out of a passion to support disabled players in the DCS World Simulator, particularly those who are often overlooked or misunderstood in multiplayer environments.

Towbie's personal experiences highlighted a significant issue: many disabled players face unwarranted labels like "rage quitter" when they are unable to complete long flights due to their physical or mental conditions. In many virtual squadrons, these players might even face demotion or exclusion due to attendance issues, further isolating them from the community they love.

For a healthy individual, these challenges might seem trivial, but for someone struggling with a disability, these hurdles can be discouraging and alienating. DCS for Disabilities is committed to stopping this stigma and fostering a more inclusive environment where all players, regardless of their physical or mental capabilities, can thrive and enjoy the camaraderie of the DCS community.

Creating a Supportive Space: The Scuttlebutt Lounge Discord

To achieve this, DCS for Disabilities utilizes platforms like Discord to engage with all community members, focusing particularly on minorities and new players within the DCS community. The Scuttlebutt Lounge Discord serves as a welcoming space where players can connect, receive guidance, and enjoy multiplayer gameplay in an environment designed to meet their needs. Here, the focus is on creating friendships and building relationships without the pressures or stigmas often found in more competitive groups.

DCS for Disabilities flies in all areas of DCS, building an incredible network of friends and supporters along the way. They are currently operating and in the process of becoming a fully recognized 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, with donations being received and managed responsibly in preparation for this transition. Their board of directors is actively involved in monitoring budgets and ensuring that funds are used to further their mission of support and inclusion.
